Limits

Swaggle has been stumbling a bit under the load of its users recently (and no, we can't invest in increased infrastructure, see the previous post). To help relieve the pressure, we've imposed a few limits you should be aware of:
  • Groups are limited to 60 people
  • Chat-type groups are limited to 100 outgoing messages / 5 minutes. If you have 10 people in a group and each one sends one message, that's 10 x 10 = 100 messages.
However, as noted in the previous post, we are big believers in the gift economy. If your group is involved in the gift economy in some way (e.g., SantaCon / Burner related) and you need an exemption, please contact us and let us know the story.

you guys are doing a great job. This is the best free service on the web. Keep up the good work.

Hey Jordan! I just sent you an e-mail and THEN I looked at your blog. Seriously, this is the most amazing text service on the web.

I had asked about opening up the restriction on one of my groups. Actually... I'd be even more interested in a differient restriction... like groups over 60 can only be broadcast with 1 broadcast per day (once per week would be fine with me).

Anyway, let's chat

Jordan,

I am about to start managing a group around the 100 person size. It may make sense to offer a premium service for those that need more than 60 folks on their lists. Text is the best way for me to communicate with my group and I plan on using your service. I really don't know what the back end logistics look like so it is just an idea.
