Pmatt sent me a link to this short showing tomorrow night at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF):
The Girl Who Swallowed Bees
Australia, 2007, 9 Minute Running Time
North American Premiere
Genre: Animation
A young teenage girl feels so distraught that she even swallows bees in an attempt to end her life. But instead, from this moment on she sees her life in a lustrous, honey-golden light ...
Here's the full details. Anyone seen it? Worth checking out?

I did go to see the program, which was a collection of 10 animated shorts (can I paste a link here? If so -- http://www.seattlefilm.org/festival/film/detail.aspx?id=26719&fid=32).
The good news is that the Girl Who Swallowed Bees is fantastic, even for me, who has only a passing interesting in bees. If you are actually a beekeeper, I am sure seeing this would be true rapture.
The bad news is that the large majority of the other shorts on this program were horrendously awful. I would actually have just walked out early and missed Bees (which they rightly saved for last) except I was in the middle of a crowded row and did not want to be rude.
FYI, World Builder is the other must see short on the program. Yansan is must see if you have any interest in Afro-Cuban/Brazilian mythology of the Orishas and/or Japanese Anime. "Everything Will be Ok" should be titled "Everything the Can Possibly be Wrong With an Animated Short".
I saw the program too, and my impression of the shorts was similar to

I posted a larger review in my Livejournal,
